I would like to ask you to take actions to help support women of Iran in the face of the catastrophic recent events following the killing of Mahsa Amini, a 22 year old woman, while in custody of the Iranian Regime’s “Morality Police.” As a fellow human being it is heartbreaking to see how Iranian women have been treated for many years. The recent event is just a reminder of what has been happening in Iran for decades. It is frustrating not to be capable of helping the people of Iran from outside of the country. This is especially true considering the limitations imposed by the Iranian Regime on people’s access to the internet.

You as a member of the Congress can have meaningful impact. Here are some of the actions you can take:

1. Support the people of Iran by being vocal. Any public condemnation is heartwarming for those on the streets.

2. Making sure the U.S. Government is using all the tools at its disposal to make it hard for the Islamic Republic of Iran to shutdown the internet of the country.

3. Making sure the employees of diplomatic missions of Iran are not harassing any U.S. person by collecting their personal information and sharing it with the Iranian government. There are reports that they have filmed the protestors in different occasions namely in D.C. and NY.

4. Making sure the U.S. Government is not engaging in any direct or indirect talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran as long as they continue to treat the people of Iran in an inhumane manner.

5. Requesting the Department of State to reconsider the visas issued for those close to the Iranian regime.

3. In the subject field type: “STOP THE TALKS WITH IRAN NOW”

4. In the message section, copy and paste the following text:

On Sept. 26, 2022, the Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State mentioned that the United States is still committed to negotiations with Iran for a mutual return to the JCPOA. That means the United States is fine with allowing the brutal Iranian regime to access millions of dollars while it is killing its people on the street as I write this.

The United States administration, as a country that aims to promote human rights around the world, should immediately stop any negotiation with the regime in Iran. Such a blow to the regime in Iran at this critical juncture will is the loudest support the U.S. administration can provide to the protestors in Iran.

As a U.S. person in this country, I urge you to stop any negotiation with the Iranian regime now.
